OUR STORY

We work with social entrepreneurs

We work with new and existing social enterprises.

We work together to improve health and social care outcomes.

Our team has been working with Social Entrepreneurs for over 15 years, helping them to develop social enterprise activity and diverse income generation routes through trading, commissioning, funding and social investment.  In this time, we have supported the start-up of over 200 new Community Interest Companies and secured over £165M for our clients.

Our vision is to see a world where organisations choose to invest their profits into social purpose to ensure sustainable and sustainable communities emerge.

Our mission is to support new and existing social enterprise organisations that aim to improve health and social care outcomes.

In September 2018, Nicola Dickins' Profit for Purpose merged with TRUSTECH to form TRUSTECH Health Social Enterprise.

Nicola Dickins has been working with Social Entrepreneurs for over 20 years, helping them to develop social enterprise activity and diverse income generation routes through trading, commissioning, funding and social investment.

In this time, she has supported the start-up of over 200 new Community Interest Companies and secured over £165M for her clients. Nicola has completed her master’s in social enterprise management and sat on the Department of Health Board for Social Enterprise; contributing to the development of the Right to Request and Social Value Commissioning.  She is also CIPD Qualified (Human Resources).  She has delivered contracts on behalf of the Cabinet Office Public Mutuals Support Service, working with Primary Care Trusts, Adult Social Services and Council led Youth Services to ‘spin out’ as a Social Enterprise and as a result supported the first ‘spin out’ delivering personalisation services.

Nicola has delivered Social Enterprise Development programmes at Oxford Brookes, Staffordshire and the University of Manchester and recently co-authored a report on the development of Social Enterprise in Universities on behalf of HeFCE. Nicola established Make it Happen Consultancy, The Social Value Business and the Social Value Quality Mark and is a qualified and experienced Social Accountant.

Collaboratively, TRUSTECH and Nicola Dickins have worked with many NHS and University staff to support them to take their ideas to market, both in the private and third sectors.  In her work with the Department of Health and the Cabinet Office, Nicola has supported public service staff to ‘spin-out’ a product or a service as a Social Enterprise, ensuring that an enterprise structure is used where profits are re-invested into research and development of further services that benefit patient care, these are known as Profit for Purpose enterprises.  Nicola is now leading the TRUSTECH team to provide a full range of services enabling individuals and organisations to develop a social enterprise approach improving health and social care outcomes throughout the UK.
